Welcome to Skin by Amanda Hi, my name is Amanda, and I’m so happy to welcome you to Skin by Amanda—a cozy little treatment room tucked inside a warm and inviting wellness acupuncture studio in Downtown Bethesda. My practice is rooted in non‑invasive, results‑driven treatments using plant‑based products that are women‑owned and, whenever possible, locally made. My journey into skincare began long before I ever stepped into esthetician school. I was born in the 80s to a passionate Puerto Rican mother who adored skincare and beauty. She had me on a skincare routine by the fourth grade, and that early introduction sparked a lifelong love for the beauty world. By middle school, I was experimenting with makeup, and I eventually earned a makeup license during a summer in college. I majored in fashion merchandising and marketing, working in both the fashion and makeup industries for many years—including as an independent makeup artist for weddings. After years in retail management, I felt a growing pull toward esthetics. I found myself constantly giving friends, family, and clients skincare advice, and eventually I listened to that inner nudge. I enrolled in esthetician school in the early 2000s, originally imagining a future in medical aesthetics. But as I became more aware of what I was putting in and on my body, my perspective shifted. I struggled with acne and melasma for years and believed that only strong peels and lasers could give me clear, healthy skin. But when I began my personal journey with clean skincare, everything changed. My skin looked better than it ever had—calmer, clearer, and more balanced. That transformation ignited a deep passion for holistic, non‑invasive treatments and the power of naturally derived ingredients. In 2020, I took a leap of faith, left my retail career, and become a holistic esthetician in Downtown Bethesda. It was there that I truly found where I was meant to be. Now, I’m thrilled to bring my dreams to life in Downtown Bethesda through thoughtful, intuitive treatments that honor both the skin and the nervous system. My facials are unique, deeply personalized, and rooted in honest connection. I adore making my clients feel their best—both in the treatment room and long after—through education, customized routines, and step‑by‑step guidance that fits your lifestyle and your budget.
